Kannapolis
Kannapolis crosses into Rowan County. Homes on the Rowan side are filed in Salisbury, not Concord. Check the county on your notice.
Harrisburg and the Charlotte line
Homes with a Charlotte mailing address can still be in Cabarrus County, and the reverse. The county on your tax bill is what counts.
How the process runs
The timeline
The same North Carolina process applies everywhere in the state: the 45-day letter, a notice of hearing, the hearing before the Clerk, a notice of sale, the auction, then a ten-day upset bid period. The full NC timeline.

Is a Kannapolis foreclosure filed in Concord?
Only if the home is on the Cabarrus side. Homes in the Rowan County part of Kannapolis are filed in Salisbury.
